Q: How can our school or program qualify? A: To participate you must provide an enrichment activity once school is out for the day.
Q: How much is the food? A: Free. You don’t pay for anything. It does not cost your enrichment program anything to feed children. Q: When is the food delivered? A: The food is delivered daily to your location. Q: We don't have an oven or refrigerator how will we keep the food hot or cold? A: Food must be maintained and served at proper temperatures. Your organization must have equipment to keep the food at the proper holding and serving temperature. If not, our organization can lend you the equipment. Q: What areas do you service? A: Greater Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Q: Who is eligible to receive meals? A: Meals are provided for children 18 and younger and persons over 18 who are disabled who participate in programs for people who are disabled.
Q: Do private schools/daycares qualify for the program? A: Yes, the program is not income based.
Q: What do you serve? A: We serve a grain, milk, vegetables, fruit, and meat or meat substitute for supper. For snack we serve two of those items. Q: What are examples of what you serve? A: Snack examples: apple and peanut butter, pretzels and milk, cheese itz and 100% fruit juice, string cheese and tangerine. Supper examples: pizza casserole, fresh fruit, and milk; spaghetti, fresh fruit, and milk; teriyaki chicken, mixed veggies, fresh fruit, and milk. Q: Do we have to serve supper or snack first? A: Meals can be served in any order as long as the meals are served 2 hours apart. You can serve snack at 2pm and supper at 5pm or supper at 2:30pm and snack at 4:30pm. Q: Will you train us? A: Yes, we train all sites before service begins to make sure that your site stays compliant. Q: Do you have insurance? A: Yes, we have all of the proper insurance that is required for our business. Q: Do we need a health permit and fire inspection? A: Yes, you must have a health permit and fire inspection on file. We will contact the appropriate departments if you do not already have a fire/health inspection.
